Doomed to Failure

There are a number of academic and professional studies which show that major sports stadiuns fail to attract the level of success that their backers hope for due to a lack of serious community support.

The proposal to move the San Francisco 49ers to Santa Clara is a case in point.

Developed in haste, and conceived in secrecy, the Santa Clara stadium will lose considerable money in the next five years.

Moore fouls up Mission College

As an elected member of the West Valley Board of Trustees, Kevin Moore conducted secret negotiations with the San Francisco 49ers on a stadium deal that will severely impact Mission College.

Traffic and parking will be completely fouled up for college students and businesses in the area around Great America where Kevin wants to put the stadium.

A college trustee is responsible for working for the benefit of students and not to negotiate anything that would impair their access to education.

We Cannot Afford it

The idea that Santa Clara can afford a football stadium is not only silly, but it is dangerous.  What Kevin Moore, Patricia Mahan, and others do not understand is that a professional sports stadium requires police services, traffic services, and also ties up land that could be used for more profitable circumstances. 

Another silly idea is that we have enough land to house the House of Blues and other fanciful ideas.

Once again, Santa Clara is playing house servant to Larry Stone's silly ideas, and it is time we put a stop to it.
